Szijjártó stressed that the Hungarian side would not give consent to possible new restrictions against Russia if they were contrary to the national interests of the country.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister also expressed confidence that the European economy is heading for a recession.

“I think this is completely against the interests of Europe and its peoples,” Szijjártó stated. 

As Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said earlier, if sanctions on Russia were lifted, the European economy could recover and avoid a recession.
