Boeing fined $200 million for misleading investors

According to a Reuters report on the 22nd local time, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) said that Boeing Co. will pay $200 million to settle the SEC’s many charges.

The SEC believes that Boeing misled investors a lot about the 737 MAX aircraft.

The Boeing 737 Max was reported to have suffered two fatal crashes in October 2018 and March 2019, killing a total of 346 people.

The Federal Aviation Administration then grounded Boeing 737 Max planes.

The SEC, the agency investigating how Boeing communicated with investors about the crash, requires publicly traded companies such as Boeing to disclose material facts and other information that shareholders need to make investment decisions.
