The Department of Education and Knowledge has opened the door for registration in the Khattwa program to send Emirati students to study in 14 community colleges in America and six colleges in Canada, to study for two years to obtain an intermediate university qualification, and the possibility of transferring the credit hours to an appropriate university.

The department identified seven advantages of the “Step” program, which included providing an opportunity for students who have not yet achieved their ambitions through a rich personal and academic journey, improving their English language and expanding the horizons of their culture through the option of staying with a family, providing a wide range of study specializations that are in line with job market opportunities, and allocating Individual sessions with specialized advisors to prepare him and familiarize him with the base stations throughout his educational journey, and access to the network of alumni and students of the program.

The department set four conditions for registration, which included that the student be a citizen of the country, have a rate between 60% and 75% in the 11th grade, between 65% and 75% in the 12th grade, and have obtained a score of at least 3.0 in the language test (IELTS) in the past two years And ready to commit to staying with a family according to the program’s requirements, and obtaining support through the 24/7 hotline service, in addition to vocational guidance in preparation for work, noting that priority is given to candidates who meet the conditions from families benefiting from social support programs.

The department stressed that the “Step” program allows the student to experience learning in a way that suits his individual goals and needs, and to explore the study programs and available fields of work to be able to determine the appropriate study majors or professions, and to obtain a second chance to achieve academic excellence, and improve admission chances at the university of his choice. Developing his English language skills, and then facilitating entry to university life, obtaining an intermediate university qualification, and the possibility of transferring credit hours to an appropriate university, pointing out that applications are available until December.

It is worth noting that the Department of Education and Knowledge seeks, through the “step” program, to send up to 6000 Emirati male and female students who meet the program’s facilitating conditions to continue their university studies in the United States of America and Canada, where the Abu Dhabi government will cover all costs of student scholarship, and the program will be implemented starting From the current academic year, high school graduates from public and private schools and educational partnership schools in Abu Dhabi can submit applications to join the program.
