The former commander of the Costa Concordia, Francesco Schettino, who is serving a 16-year prison sentence in Rebibbia, could soon leave the prison to access the State Discotheque and deal with the digitization of processes, in particular that of Ustica.

For him - tell sources close to Schettino - a request was made from the prison to digitize some processes.

Schettino has in fact accrued the term that allows him to access alternative measures: having reached almost half of the sentence he could therefore access the benefits provided by his current prison situation.

Schettino has been in prison since 2017 after being sentenced to 16 years in prison for the sinking of the Costa Concordia, the cruise ship of which he was the captain.

On 13 January 2012 the Concordia ran aground on the rocks of the Giglio Island: 32 people died in the tragic shipwreck, including passengers and crew members.
