Rising food prices, expensive electricity bills and high interest rates are some of the factors that have increased the pressure on the Food Mission.

- So far this year, over 6,000 people have applied for membership, says Johan Rindevall, head of the Food Mission. 

In a joint venture with the grocery industry, Matmissionen has now opened the third and last store in Stockholm for this year.

The grocery stores sell goods that would otherwise be at risk of food waste at a reduced price for people who are financially vulnerable.
