Lavrov: Ukraine suffers from "Russophobia"

Yesterday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized Western accusations against his country over the war in Ukraine.

"There is an attempt today to impose a completely different narrative about Russian aggression, which is the root of this tragedy," Lavrov said during a Security Council session.

He accused Ukraine of suffering "Russophobia", which includes its imposition of rules devoted exclusively to the use of the Ukrainian language.

"The United States and its allies are covering up the crimes of the Kyiv regime with the complicity of international human rights organizations," Lavrov added.

The session came at the invitation of France, which currently chairs the Security Council, with the aim of highlighting the pursuit of accountability over the war in Ukraine.
