The scene of violent urban riots during the summer of 2018, the priority district of Dervallières, in Nantes, will finally truly begin its renaissance.

In 2025 and at a cost of 4.2 million euros, its inhabitants will notably find a completely renovated central square, with a very different atmosphere from the current one.

On the computer-generated images that the town hall of Nantes has just unveiled, it appears greener, with a pedestrian forecourt in particular to accommodate the market.

Water games and a park will be set up there.

New housing, shops, association premises and additional public services will also grow all around.

Urban farm and swimming pool

Three other large-scale projects will be carried out in the district by 2026. In addition to the requalification of housing, the Dervallières will host an urban farm which will offer direct sales but also integration jobs for the inhabitants of the district, promises the city.

As voted last year, work on the Dervallières swimming pool will also be carried out in the years to come.

Enlarged and open all year round thanks to the creation of a covered basin, it should be delivered in the summer of 2025 after being closed for more than a year.
