“According to people familiar with this issue, this effort (setting an oil price ceiling. -

) Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization,” the material says.

According to the agency, this measure may become part of a new package of anti-Russian sanctions to be proposed by the European Commission.

Meanwhile, according to one of the sources, the plan to impose a price ceiling on Russian oil will face obstacles, and it is not certain that this initiative will be approved by all EU members.

On September 2, the finance ministers of the G7 countries agreed to impose a ceiling on the price of oil from Russia.

In particular, the G7 will ban ship insurance for carriers of Russian oil at prices exceeding the established threshold.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen noted that limiting the price of oil from Russia will help fight inflation in the US.
