It is the financial practices of the Trump family and their company that are at the heart of this complaint.
For a good twenty minutes, Letitia James presented the conclusions of an investigation of more than two years relating, she says, to millions of documents.
The prosecutor accuses Donald Trump and his children Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric, of financial fraud and illegal practices.
According to the conclusions of the investigators, they deliberately tampered with the organization's accounts by greatly overstating the value of its assets in order to deceive banks and insurance companies to obtain larger and more advantageous loans, and
ultimately
to enrich themselves.
At the same time, the same goods were undervalued in tax declarations, in order to pay less taxes.
The 220-page complaint multiplies the examples.
The prosecutor's office is seeking $250 million in damages, as well as a ban on the Trump family from owning a real estate business and taking out loans at New York-based institutions.
In addition, the prosecutor announces that she is transmitting the elements of her investigation to the federal tax authorities and the Department of Justice, which will have to determine whether to launch criminal proceedings.
She recalls that when questioned, Donald Trump preferred to remain silent rather than cooperate.
And to conclude his remarks by explaining that no one is above the law.

Today, I filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump for engaging in years of financial fraud to enrich himself, his family, and the Trump Organization.
There aren't two sets of laws for people in this nation: former presidents must be held to the same standards as everyday Americans.
