Säffle pastorate is involved in a pilot project where the parish home is to be developed into a safe place with access to, among other things, electricity and water in the event of any future crises.

In concrete terms, this has meant that solar cells were installed on the roof of the Kila parish home.

- It would be great fun if we could find a concept that can be passed on to all other types of buildings within the Church of Sweden or the municipalities, says Katarina Bjerker who is cemetery and property manager in Säffle pastorate.

Lena Skoting, who is the parish priest in Säffle, sees several practical advantages in the pilot project being carried out right at the church in Kila.

In the clip above, she explains why.
