In an effort to popularize My Number cards, the government has decided to reflect the spread of cards in each municipality in the distribution of subsidies to be newly established next fiscal year.

As of the 20th, the number of issued My Number cards was over 60.85 million, with an issuance rate of 48%, and the government wants to further spread them.

For this reason, the government has established a policy to reflect the spread of cards in each municipality in the distribution of the newly established "Digital Garden City National Concept Subsidy" next fiscal year.

120 billion yen is included in the budget request for the next fiscal year, and the distribution will be decided based on the application from the local government.

Specifically, when applying for a subsidy as an "advanced initiative that utilizes digital technology," the condition is that the card issuance rate is above the national average, and that "the excellent models of other local governments are used." The application as an initiative is also decided to decide the payment in consideration of the grant rate.

The government plans to reflect the card issuance rate in the calculation of the local allocation tax for the next fiscal year, and would like to support local governments working to popularize it.

On the other hand, some local governments have said that it is rude to link the spread of cards with subsidies, and it is expected that there will be a backlash in the future.
