The lawyer Pierre Debuisson filed a complaint against Nestlé, in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine).

He is claiming the sum of 250 million euros in damages for all the victims of the Buitoni pizza contamination case, reports Actu Hauts-de-Seine.

Two children died at the start of the year and several others were seriously ill due to the E.coli bacteria present in the brand's frozen meals.

The lawyer said it was "the biggest European food scandal of the last thirty years".

He denounces the breaches of food safety and hygiene of which the agri-food group is allegedly guilty, as well as the anomalies noted in the investigation.

“The amount we are asking for is not much”

As for the amount of damages, the lawyer believes that it is not so high: “In 2021, Nestlé made 99 billion euros in turnover.

The sum we are asking for is not much compared to the profits of the company”.

The brand did not wish to respond to requests from our colleagues.
