  Tracy, a career diplomat, will succeed Sullivan, who left Moscow earlier this month and announced her retirement, CNBC reported.

  Tracy, who speaks Russian, was a senior adviser on Russian affairs in the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, and she has also worked in U.S. diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Kazakhstan, among others.
