An official “educational” letter containing commercial advertisements

Al Ain Educational District Administration distributed an official letter to all school principals, containing commercial advertisements directed to some female teachers in private and government schools, stating that there are discounts on evening dresses, Indian and Moroccan galabiyas, and other goods. Officially with a commercial content, if they want to honor us for our role in advancing the state, let them allocate for us free courses in computers, English and the like, and most of us do not care about evening dresses and galabiyas.”

SM, a teacher in a public school, asked about the reason for these advertisements, saying, "If the shop in which they offered the discounts came in person and offered discounts to female teachers, this is another matter. As for the area promoting stores and encouraging us to go and buy from there during a limited period, this is what We can call it a disaster. If education has reached the point of turning into commercial advertisements, what can we say, frankly, we were shocked when we read the circular issued by the region, especially since this does not benefit education, students, or even us teachers, so what are we interested in in dresses?

The school, Moza.A., says, “We were surprised that the announcement was issued by the district administration, and that the official slogan turned into a commercial one, and if they really want to help us, let them give the teachers their right as they deserve. The official was used for commercial marketing and we embellished it with words as a tribute to those working on the advancement of the state, and in fact, in my opinion, this circular does not benefit us in anything.”

The acting director of Al Ain Educational District, Salem Al Kathiri, apologized for not speaking with Emirates Today in this regard.
