Yesterday evening, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the crash of its fighter plane in the south of the country due to a technical malfunction, and its pilot survived.

The Public Relations of the Revolutionary Guards' Aerospace Force said - in a statement - that a "Sukhoi-22" fighter plane belonging to the force experienced a technical malfunction during the performance of its tasks, and was directed to uninhabited areas.

The PR added in its statement that the pilot landed safely using the jump seat.

This is the fourth accident in Iran within months, where two pilots were injured last June in the crash of an F-14 fighter plane in the center of the country, and last May two pilots were killed in the crash of an F-7 plane.

And 3 people - including two crew members - were killed in the crash of an Iranian army fighter jet in the city of Tabriz (northwest of the country), last February.
