“The Ministry has asked the government of Ukraine to verify the accuracy of this news, as well as to provide additional information about it as a matter of priority, given the need to ensure the well-being of Sri Lankan citizens in Ukraine,” the statement says.

Earlier, the head of the military-civilian administration of the Kharkiv region, Vitaly Ganchev, said that the Ukrainian military detained seven students who are citizens of Sri Lanka and took them to an unknown destination.
