Yesterday, Kurdish security forces announced the end of a three-week security operation against groups affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS in the overcrowded al-Hol camp in northeastern Syria, which resulted in the arrest of more than 226 people.

The camp, located in the farthest part of al-Hasakah Governorate and housing about 56 thousand people, witnesses security incidents from time to time, including escape operations, attacks against guards or humanitarian workers, or murders affecting its residents.

In a statement, the Kurdish forces stated that 36 women were arrested, who participated in the killings and intimidation in the camp in recent months.

It added that it found 25 trenches and tunnels, and confiscated weapons, torture equipment and communications equipment.

On August 25, these forces, with the support of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the international coalition led by Washington, launched a campaign in the camp following the increase in killings and torture carried out by terrorist cells against the camp's residents.

The United Nations has counted the killing of more than 100 people, including a large number of women, since the beginning of 2021 in the camp supervised by the Kurdish Autonomous Administration and located 10 kilometers from the Iraqi border.

During the operation, the Kurdish forces managed to free two Yazidi girls from the grip of ISIS women and transferred them to a safe environment, in addition to releasing four women who were found bound in chains.

The camp includes about 10,000 foreign members of ISIS families, who live in a special section under heavy security.

The Kurdish authorities reiterated their demand for states to take back their nationals and not to leave them vulnerable to exploitation and recruitment by the terrorist organization.

Despite repeated calls and warnings by international organizations of catastrophic conditions, especially in al-Hol camp, the majority of countries refuse to take back their citizens, and have not responded to the Autonomous Administration's call to establish an international court to try the terrorists in its prisons.

Four women bound in chains were found... and two "Yazidi" girls were freed.
