Activists approved 83% of the new leadership, 87% of the new party statutes and 96% of the body of values drawn up at the end of August.

Some 25,000 to 26,000 "certified" members were called upon to vote.

The party did not communicate the number of members who took part in these three votes.

"Unity and overcoming is what I want to give tonight," said Emmanuel Macron in a video broadcast at Carrousel.

"We were able to reconcile so many women and men who until then did not work together" and "it is united and gathered that we are going to open a new chapter in the political life of our country", also declared the head of the state.

But "without unity, the extremes will prevail", nevertheless warned Emmanuel Macron, now honorary president of Renaissance.

Present at the meeting, Elisabeth Borne once again pleaded for political "overcoming" between the right and the left.

"I will also be there to ensure the unity of the majority" which "will only succeed if it is based on its three pillars", also said the Prime Minister, in the presence of Édouard Philippe, president of Horizons, but in the absence of the boss of the MoDem François Bayrou, yet expected at the Carrousel.

In an interview with Le Parisien, posted online shortly before this congress, Mr. Bayrou said he was "opposed to the forced passage" of the inclusion of a pension reform in the Social Security Financing Bill ( PLFSS).

This majority will succeed "if it advances as one block and faces together", insisted Ms. Borne on Saturday, while these three allies only hold a relative majority in the Assembly.

After an extraordinary summer session without major clashes, the autumn menu promises to be complicated: bills on unemployment insurance, on renewable energies and the orientation bill of the Ministry of the Interior, before the big back-to-school business: the budget.

Government and majority already seem to be preparing to trigger article 49.3, which allows the adoption of a text without a vote, except for a motion of censure.

The debates of the PLFSS are likely to ignite if the retirements appear there.

-The presidential after 2024-

Former collaborator of Mr. Macron, president of the Renaissance group in the European Parliament, without competition to succeed Stanislas Guerini at the head of the party, Stéphane Séjourné (37) will be surrounded by deputy secretary generals.

Among these, the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire will be in charge of ideas, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin of training.

It was necessary "to really put around the table all the contenders for 2027", explains an executive from the former management.

The Agir et Territoires de Progrès (TDP) parties, led by ministers Franck Riester and Olivier Dussopt, will have the rank of associated parties in this new entity.

The authorities of Agir have already decided in this direction at the beginning of September, according to the party.

Territories of Progress will hold a congress on November 26 and 27 to confirm or not this association.

The new statutes of Renaissance establish a paid contribution, while En Marche had claimed up to 400,000 members without obligation of contribution.

Elections will be organized for local representatives, a point expected in a party that has shown great difficulty in establishing itself at the local level.

A Congress must be organized before November 2024, after the European elections.

The party will then have to decide on a method of appointing a presidential candidate for 2027, Emmanuel Macron not being able to stand for re-election.

But Renaissance will have to get on with Edouard Philippe's Horizons and François Bayrou's MoDem.

This week, the mayor of Reims Arnaud Robinet (Horizons) said he wanted Mr. Philippe to quickly declare himself a presidential candidate.

It is an "existential question: if we are not united in 2027, we will be beaten", warned Mr. Séjourné in front of the Young people with Macron, also meeting on Saturday in Paris.
