The Moderates and the Sweden Democrats are strongest in Gävle's municipal elections.

They run for two terms each.

Although the Liberals look set to lose two mandates in the municipal council, they will decide which bloc will govern Gävle after the New Year.

Sandviken

The result indicates that the Social Democrats may lose their long-standing position of power in Sandviken.

The ruling coalition of the Social Democrats, the Center Party and the Liberals loses three mandates and thus its majority.

Although the Liberals lost two seats, they can become wave masters with their two remaining seats.

Together with KD, M and SD, they would reach a majority.

Hofors

The municipality of Hofors is governed by a minority consisting of S, C and L, which also cooperates with the Hofors Party (HOP) in budget matters.

Preliminary election figures show that L and HOP lose one seat each.

The minority government can thus gain less power while HOP stands and weighs in the middle.

Ockelbo

The Social Democrats have problems attracting new voters in their core areas such as industrial towns and smaller industrial municipalities.

The exception is Ockelbo.

After two disastrous elections, they reversed the trend on Sunday and increased one mandate compared to the last election.

The largest opposition party Sweden Democrats is increasing for the third election in a row in Ockelbo.

This year with a mandate.

Bollnäs

The election results show that the coalition with S, M, MP and Bollnäspartiet loses its majority.

The Green Party loses its only mandate and thus falls out of the municipal council.

The Bollnäs party also backs two mandates.

The moderates, on the other hand, increase by one.

This means that the Social Democrats must look for new partners if they want to continue governing.

Söderhamn

The Center Party in Söderhamn stands for a huge loss and loses three mandates in the council.

The Center Party has governed Söderhamn together with M, L and KD during the last mandate period.

After Sunday's election, the alliance, C, L, KD, M still has a ruling majority with 20 seats, while S and V have 19 seats.

SD increases and gets ten seats in the municipality.

Hudiksvall

In Hudiksvall, it is the parties on the right that reap success.

KD, M and SD take one more mandate each, compared to the last election.

At the same time, S and C back down with one mandate each.

In recent years, Hudiksvall has been governed by S, M and MP.

Valley of Light

The Social Democrats are still the largest party in Ljusdal municipality, but have backed down with two mandates in the municipal election.

The center party also loses two mandates.

The Moderates and the Sweden Democrats simultaneously step forward and together get three more mandates compared to the 2018 election.

However, who will form the board in Ljusdal is very unclear.

Above field

The Center Party in Ovanåker loses three seats compared to the 2018 election. However, they are still the second largest party after the Social Democrats.

The alliance parties get a majority in the municipality despite the loss of the Center Party and the Social Democrats.

North facing

The Social Democrats lose one mandate but are still the municipality's largest party with nine of the municipal council's 31 mandates.

Previously, together with the Center Party, and an electoral cooperation from the Nordanstig Party, they had 16 mandates.

Now that constellation achieves only 15 seats, so the question of how to form a majority is open.

FOOTNOTE: The result is still preliminary in all municipalities as the county administrative board must also check count all votes.

No municipality has yet announced who will govern the coming term, but negotiations are ongoing.
