In all Halland municipalities, the counting of the so-called Wednesday votes - the last early votes that did not arrive in time to be counted on election night - is underway on Wednesday.

Per Svensson (S) hoped that Wednesday's count would result in the Left Party gaining an extra mandate at the same time as the Sweden Democrats lost one, which could provide the conditions for continued governance for Framtid Falkenberg.

That the Left Party got an extra mandate became a reality.

But they lost the mandate to the Social Democrats and not SD.

- It is of course very sad.

We are very close to a majority, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case, says Per Svensson (S).

He emphasizes that the Social Democrats are by far the largest party in the municipality and that one of the main alternatives is a continued government with Framtid Falkenberg in a minority government.

- We are prepared to take on great responsibility.

There must be a continued dialogue between the parties, says Per Svensson (S).
