Yemeni forces continue to fight terrorism in Abyan and Shabwa

The Yemeni forces continued to purge the districts of Abyan and Shabwa from terrorist elements, within the framework of the "Shams of the East" and "Shams of the South" operations.

Military sources stated that the southern forces, backed by units from the Security Belt and the Giants Brigades, participating in the operation, completed the purification of the districts of "Mudiyah and Lawdar", and large parts of the central region in Abyan, of terrorist elements allied with the "Houthis and the Brotherhood", after successful raids that led to the killing of And captured a number of terrorists

The sources confirmed that the forces were able to deploy in several directorates while continuing to pursue the rest of the terrorist elements in the valleys and reefs that fled and are holed up in them, noting that terrorism in Abyan and Shabwa is living its last days, and that the current military operation is widely welcomed by the people in the two governorates.

Local sources in Abyan said that the people breathed a sigh of relief after the military operations that purified their areas of terrorism, noting that Mudiya was teeming with terrorists who tried yesterday to impede the entry of forces to it by detonating five explosive devices and a motorcycle at the entrance of the district, killing 6 Yemeni soldiers and wounding others.

In Shabwa, Operation "Arrows of the South" continued to purify the province from terrorism, and managed, during the past few hours, to clear "Wadi Sira and Wadi Madhab", and control a secret camp for terrorists in the province.

In Lahj, the Security Belt forces were able to raid the den of terrorist elements after receiving intelligence information, and arrested 12 terrorists in possession of explosives and a plan for the targeted areas in the liberated areas in southern Yemen.

In Marib, the Yemeni army and the resistance forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by Houthi elements on the southern front of the governorate, according to field sources.

On the western coast, the Houthi militia carried out raids on several villages in the Bait al-Faqih district, and kidnapped dozens after they refused to give up their lands in favor of Houthi elements.

In Ibb, central Yemen, the militias launched a campaign of kidnappings against a number of residents of the Al-Wazi’iyah neighborhood in the Al-Zaher district, against the background of the neighborhood’s residents’ resistance to a Houthi campaign and preventing them from entering the neighborhood, and they were able to damage a Houthi vehicle.

On the UN truce, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Minister Badr al-Busaidi discussed in Muscat with the US Special Envoy to Yemen Tim Lenderking, developments and efforts related to the truce in Yemen and its sustainability, where the importance of joint action to enhance confidence and constructive dialogue between all parties was emphasized. The Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US envoy called for the start of a comprehensive political process and support for efforts to end the war in Yemen.

Yesterday, Lenderking discussed with the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Al-Hajraf, the international efforts to end the conflict in Yemen, where it was stressed the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to exert pressure on the Houthi group, to engage seriously in the peace process to resolve the Yemeni crisis.
