China held an exhibition of ancient relics to commemorate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and China.

However, it was revealed that Goguryeo and Balhae were deliberately omitted from our ancient history chronology.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Korea and China, relics lent by the National Museum of Korea are on display.

The bronze bell, a national treasure that shows the characteristics of our Bronze Age culture, was placed in the front row, but the explanation from the Chinese side is completely different.

[Zai Shengli / Researcher at the National Museum of China: The form, function, and pattern of this type of species have a deep origin in the Chinese Bronze Age.

So, it is in line with early Chinese Bronze Age culture.]

Goguryeo and Balhae were omitted from the chronological table of Korean ancient history.

Silla, Baekje, and Gaya exist in the Iron Age part that continues from Gojoseon, but Goguryeo and Balhae cannot be found.

Originally, the chronology provided by our side included the founding years of Goguryeo and Balhae, but the Chinese side deliberately removed them and re-edited them.

Another document describing the Proto Three Kingdoms period also excludes northern histories such as Goguryeo and Buyeo.

He mentioned the establishment of Hansa-gun, Mahan, Jinhan, and Byeonhan, and referred to the Proto Three Kingdoms period as the history of the southern part of the Korean Peninsula.

The National Museum of Korea said that it had requested correction and an apology, saying that the Chinese side arbitrarily edited contents that were not in the materials provided with the artifacts.

[Seonghyeok Yang / Curator of Archeology and History Department, National Museum of Korea: It is an international custom to faithfully reflect the data provided by the lender (exhibits).

The Chinese side's attitude is undermining the relationship of trust between the two institutions.]

This shows once again China's intention to include the ancient history of the north of Korea into Chinese history through the Northeast Project.
