Chinese President Xi Jinping will make an official visit to Central Asia from the 14th and attend the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a framework led by China and Russia.

It seems that the aim is to appeal as a diplomatic achievement before the party convention in October, where the focus will be on whether he will enter a third term as the top of the Communist Party.

According to China's Foreign Ministry, President Xi Jinping will make an official visit to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in Central Asia from 14th to 16th.

It is the first time in two years and eight months that President Xi has visited a foreign country since Myanmar last January, and the first time since the global spread of the new coronavirus infection.

Of these, Uzbekistan will attend the summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, a framework led by China and Russia, starting on the 15th.

China's foreign ministry spokesman Mao Ning said on the 13th that the visit is the most important diplomatic activity China will carry out before the Communist Party Congress, emphasizing its significance.

Mao, however, declined to comment on whether Xi would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It will be the first face-to-face meeting between Xi and Putin since February and the first since Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.

It is believed that President Xi intends to promote the series of visits as diplomatic achievements ahead of the Communist Party Congress in October, which will focus on whether he will enter an unusual third term as the top of the Communist Party.
