The Wall Street Journal called on Western leaders to prepare to use nuclear weapons, or try to involve NATO directly in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, calling the Ukrainian counter-offensive an important turning point in the war.

In its editorial

, the American newspaper reviewed the

size of the Ukrainian victory and how it was achieved in close cooperation between the US and Ukrainian intelligence, and the deception of the Russians that the Ukrainian army would focus on the south while preparing in complete secrecy for the attack in the east - the Donbass front, as well as detailing Russia's "chaotic" withdrawal and weak morale and military.

She warned that Ukraine's progress would raise the stakes for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who she said would use nothing more than cutting energy supplies to Europe than the status quo, clashing with NATO forces, or using tactical and chemical nuclear weapons instead of losing. Humiliating.

The Wall Street Journal hopes that Western leaders will be thinking about how to respond rather than thinking that Putin is unlikely to do what I mentioned.

Its editorial concluded that it is not possible to accept nuclear escalation as a normal war, as the radiological fallout could reach NATO territory, and then the alliance would have to increase its military aid and allow Ukraine to fight inside Russia.

She also called on Western leaders to make clear to Putin that he would become a global pariah if he resorted to nuclear weapons.
