During the last term of office, the Social Democrats governed Malmö together with the Liberals, who announced before this year's election that they preferred to cooperate on the other side of the bloc border.

Now the leader of the Liberals is no longer as categorical.

- The preliminary outcome of the vote count is that there is a red-green majority, so the question now lies with them, says Roko Kursar (L).

Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh (S) does not close any doors to wider cooperation, but does not want to preempt events.

- I can see a strength in being able to make decisions on various issues with broad support, she says.

The left party wants to rule

The Left Party, which is the established party that has grown the most in Malmö, definitely wants to be involved in governing the municipality.

- Of course we want it, says Emma-Lina Johansson (V).

The Green Party is also interested in being part of the equation.

- Our door is open to negotiate governance together with parties that are close to us in terms of values and that clearly want to prioritize climate, environment and social justice, says Stefana Hoti (MP).
