This corresponds to two mandates.

- There are several parties with which I could form a stable government.

There will be a lot of conversations during the day, says Erik Pelling (S), chairman of the municipal board in Uppsala.

The Social Democrats have governed Uppsala municipality for the last two mandate periods, since 2018 together with the Liberals and the Green Party.

Both parties appear to be backing down.

The Liberals as much as -3.5 percent, which corresponds to three mandates in the municipal council.

- I have said that I am prepared to cooperate with all parties except the Sweden Democrats, says Erik Pelling.

M wants to see a change of power

The Moderate Party's candidate for municipal board chairman Therez Almerfors writes in an SMS to SVT Uppsala that:

"Uppsala needs a change of power.

It is clear that the voters want to see a change – I am ready to lead that change by gathering the other bourgeois parties into a government”.

- It will be a "chicken race" as usual and no one claims to be defeated until a new government is negotiated, says Erik Pelling (S).

When can it be ready?

- Maybe this week anyway.
