Dubai Police clears an energy drink of alcohol

The acting director of the General Department of Forensic Evidence and Criminology in Dubai, Lt. Col. Ahmed Matar Al Muhairi, stated that "random samples of the energy drink "Red Bull", obtained from the market, were analyzed and the results of the analysis proved that it was free of any alcoholic substances."

Al-Muhairi confirmed the incorrectness of what was reported by mobile phones and some websites regarding the presence of alcohol in this drink, explaining that “this information circulated dates back to a case that occurred in 2002, of a person who was arrested in one of the areas, and packages were seized from among the antiquities that were raised from the scene of the accident. At that time, it was proven that there was a percentage of alcohol in those containers.”

And a number of people had requested, during telephone calls with radio programs, to verify the authenticity of the text messages they received on their phones, which mentioned the presence of a percentage of alcoholic substances in the drink.

It is noteworthy that the news that the energy drink Red Bull contained a percentage of alcohol was raised when one of the accused of driving under the influence of alcohol said before the court

that he does not drink alcohol at all, but that he drinks daily, bottles of “Red Bull” and it was raised at the time that the analyzes proved His words were true, and these rumors have been repeated at the present time, after the tightening of penalties for traffic violations and the application of the black points system.

Al Muhairi stressed that "Dubai Police is always keen to communicate with the public, and to constantly clarify the facts to them."

He called on citizens and residents "not to be swayed by any attempts to deceive them, through incorrect narratives that are promoted on websites, or through mobile messages."
