Fear last night in Barletta after a large fire broke out in an external structure of the "Dimiccoli" hospital.

The construction of the Civil Protection, built during the covid period, had been inactive for over a year and was empty inside.

Four fire brigade teams on site to put out the flames.

"Patients do not run any risk", specified by the ASL.

Those closest to the fumes, hospitalized in intensive care, "have all been moved to safe areas - explained the health director Emanuele Tatò

-. At the moment the situation is under control, we are awaiting a response from the Fire Brigade that tell us what happened ".

The area, in the past few weeks, had been affected by the theft of electrical cables.

Of the 4 patients in intensive care: 1 was transferred to the Bisceglie "Vittorio Emanuele II" hospital, while the other 3 are in the emergency room at the "Dimiccoli" hospital in Barletta.

Patients admitted to gastroenterology were moved, just for safety reasons, to the emergency room too.

The ASL BT informs that 118 external accesses have been blocked in an emergency.

The reasons for the fire are still unknown.
