Three overload attacks against the Electoral Authority: "Very serious"

The latest attack was still ongoing at 11pm on election night.

The two have previously been reported to the police by the Electoral Authority.

- We cannot yet assess the extent to which the visitors are affected, says Anna Nykvist.

- The handling is ongoing, we cannot say more at the moment, she says.

According to the Swedish Electoral Authority, the vote count is not affected because all votes are counted manually.

In the 2018 election, the Election Authority's website crashed during election night and was down for several hours.

There was a delay in the results transfer

At the same time, the county administrations in the country have had temporary problems with their telephone switchboards, which meant that reporting was slow for a period earlier during the election night.

The problem was resolved after about 15 minutes and is back to normal.

- We have also had a delay in the transmission of the results to the media, but the preliminary vote count has been able to be followed all along on val.se, says Anna Nykvist.
