Magnitude 7.6 earthquake strikes Papua New Guinea, tsunami warning issued

An earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale hit eastern Papua New Guinea on Sunday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said.

The center said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 80 km.

The US Tsunami Warning System issued a tsunami warning after the earthquake.
