Since early Saturday morning, Hassan Soaree, owner of the Pizzapalatset restaurant in Kalmar, and his staff had started preparing the dough and the oven to make the 176 centimeter wide pizza.
According to Hassan Soaree, it is the largest on record.
- It is the largest in the Nordics and corresponds to 40 pizzas, and approximately 200 people can get a slice of the pizza, he says.

How did you come up with this idea?
- I love pizza, it's my hobby.
I have been working in pizza for 32 years and I always thought I would do something this big.
Ten years ago, I saw the world's largest pizza and thought: Why can't I make it too?
The pizza was transported from the pizzeria by truck to Stortorget.
Where it was received by a huge sea of amazed people who gathered around the tent in the rain to get a view and a slice of the pizza.
