Their little Sunday walk had turned sour.

On September 19, a couple and their son had decided to walk in the forest with their dog not far from their home in Locmiquélic, near Lorient (Morbihan).

They had then crossed paths with a hunter, furious that their dog was not kept on a leash in this hunting area.

After copiously insulting the family, the hunter held them at gunpoint with his gun until they tied up their dog and left the scene, reports

At the bar of the Lorient court, the defendant insisted on Wednesday to minimize his gesture, explaining that his rifle "was broken" on his arm and that he had never targeted the family.

The deputy prosecutor replied that the family was within their rights and that nothing prevented them from being in this area.

The septuagenarian was finally sentenced to three months in prison.

He is also prohibited from possessing a weapon for five years and will have to compensate the victims.
