Newsweek quoted US analysts as saying that Ukraine's relentless efforts to push back Russian forces in the southern regions of the Russian-controlled country are so effective that they are now an affront to Russia's logistical and administrative capabilities.
Newsweek pointed to a report issued last Monday by the Institute for the Study of War, an American think tank specializing in defense and foreign affairs, detailing the military operations between the two sides, adding that it is the latest in a series of analytical reports since Russia invaded Ukraine in last February.
The report, which focused on the Kherson province, described what is happening as a war of attrition as each party seeks to finish off the other, but the Russians are the worst off.
"Ukrainian forces are slowly reducing Russia's tactical and operational capabilities in the Kherson region, and this is likely to have a significant impact on the administrative and bureaucratic capabilities of the Russians," the report said, quoted by the American magazine.
The American magazine concluded that the aforementioned report appears to reveal Russia's failures, at a time when Ukrainian military officials have claimed that the number of Russian deaths continues to rise.
