A 59-year-old woman was found dead on Tuesday evening in the rubble of her house in Ermont (Val-d'Oise), reports

The firefighters were alerted at the end of the day by neighbors and intervened in large numbers to contain the fire which affected the house.

Twenty-four firefighters and six machines were mobilized to prevent the flames from spreading to the dense vegetation around the pavilion and the other accommodations.

Rescuers then discovered the body of the 50-year-old.

An investigation was opened to find the cause of death and the house was placed under seal.

According to residents interviewed by the Ile-de-France daily, the property even seemed abandoned.
