Bannon, Trump's former political adviser, turns himself in

  On September 8, local time, Steve Bannon, a former political adviser to former U.S. President Trump, surrendered to the New York State authorities. He was accused of embezzling funds when building a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

  According to reports, Bannon turned himself in at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office at 9 a.m. local time on the 8th.

New York State Attorney General Letitia James plans to hold a news conference at 13:00 to announce the charges against Bannon.

  According to the "New York Times" report, the indictment made public on the morning of the 8th charged Bannon with two felonies of money laundering, two counts of conspiracy and one count of fraud related to non-profit fundraising for the construction of the US-Mexico border wall.

If Bannon is convicted, he could face between five and 15 years in prison at the harshest sentence.
