33 killed in karaoke fire in southern Vietnam

  Binh Duong Province in southern Vietnam announced on the 8th that the search and rescue work for the fire accident in the karaoke hall on the 6th in the province has ended. The fire caused a total of 33 deaths. The cause of the accident was a short circuit.

  Binh Duong Provincial Public Security Department said that on the evening of the 6th, a 4-storey karaoke hall covering an area of ​​1,500 square meters in Thuan An city of the province caught fire. The karaoke hall had 30 karaoke rooms, and there were many customers and service personnel in the karaoke hall at that time.

The fire spread quickly due to the wooden interior of the building.

After a night of fire fighting and rescue operations, the fire was brought under control on the morning of the 7th.

  Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Zheng extended his condolences to the families of the victims on the afternoon of the 7th, and asked the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to cooperate with provinces and cities to investigate fire hazards across the country.

  According to the Fire Department of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, in the first half of 2022, there were 848 fires across Vietnam, resulting in 41 deaths.
