A fire broke out Tuesday evening around 9:30 p.m. on a barge parked on the Nantes-Brest canal near the town of Forges-de-Lanouée (Morbihan), we learned from the firefighters.
It was a gas leak that caused a fire to start on board the boat which then exploded before sinking.
The two occupants of the barge, a 74-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman, fortunately managed to jump from the boat before the explosion.
Slightly burned, they were transported to the Vannes hospital center.
