Government Communication 2022 hosts 160 speakers to explore solutions to future challenges

The 11th session of the International Forum for Government Communication 2022, organized by the Sharjah Government Media Office, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, will host an agenda rich with events, sessions, speeches and workshops, to come up with innovative recommendations and solutions to the current and future challenges it faces. Communities, in line with the forum's slogan "Challenges and Solutions".

The forum, which will be held on September 28 and 29 at Expo Center Sharjah, will witness seven main sessions, 10 inspirational speeches, six proactive events, six workshops, 13 interactive platforms, and 40 accompanying events, with the participation of 160 Arab and foreign speakers from decision-makers, officials and experts. Their visions on the importance of effective government communication in the face of local and global changes, economic crises, and the opportunities behind them, especially in light of the development of communication tools and their impact on social relations.

The theme of this year's forum emphasizes the role of government communication in informing specialists and the public about challenges, and using appropriate communication methodologies that motivate the public to contribute to devising appropriate solutions and practices to overcome challenges and obstacles.

Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Office, Tariq Saeed Alai, said: "Governments play a key role in dealing with challenges, changing circumstances and crisis management, but effective and mutual communication between the government and the public remains the main focus in enhancing the efficiency of responding to challenges."

He added: "For a decade, the International Forum for Government Communication, which is hosted by the Emirate of Sharjah, was able to re-present the government communication scene, through a wide range of recommendations and ideas that were characterized by a forward-looking view, and today the Forum continues in its 11th session its objectives to crystallize more visions for the future sector.”

The forum’s activities include seven sessions, under the titles: “Struggles for change.. How to be?”, “Economic crises, between positive containment and negative adaptation,” “Drama, between intellectual and linguistic construction,” and “When zero becomes an achievement.” And “Creative Destruction… What Has the World Benefited?”, “The Future of the World between Web 3, Metavirus, and Artificial Intelligence,” and “The Implications of Public Communication on Startups.”

Under a range of the most pressing communication topics, a group of senior local and international officials, thought leaders, intellectuals and artists speak about their experiences and visions in 10 “inspirational speeches” during the forum, under the titles: “What Kind of Government Does the World Need?” and “The Future of the Creative Economy.” Are we ready?”, “Leadership by Influence,” “Balanced Cultures.. Equal Relationships,” “Cinema.. Renewed Communication Channels,” “Achievement of Dreams Does Not Recognize the Impossible,” “The Power of Habits,” and “The Power of Habits.” Creative Partnerships and New Gatekeepers,” “The Skills Economy and the Next Generation of Governments,” and “Green Growth: Decision-Making Mechanisms.”

In an effort to transfer experiences and provide participants with the latest media methods and strategies in communication, three creative workshops will be organized over the two days, to be presented by specialists from the League of Arab States, the Artificial Intelligence Journalism Foundation for Research and Foresight, and the Sky News Arabia Academy, each targeting 20 participants, namely : “Effective Government Communication in the Digital Age”, “The First (Mini) Professional Diploma in Artificial Intelligence Journalism”, and “Digital Content Creation… From and to the Phone”, and the total beneficiaries of the workshops in the two days will reach 120 participants.

Forty events will be organized during the forum, presenting various topics and issues in a number of the most prominent themes on the regional and international arenas. The Future”, which discusses technology and its role in new media and serving the issues of people with disabilities in education, the “Dialogue of Minds” that discusses social and humanitarian issues, and the “We Search” hall, which deals with new research and studies in government communication.
