Balitsky also said that Ukraine is purposefully shooting at elevators and destroying infrastructure.

“All this is being destroyed in order to create an ecological and food catastrophe, so that people are afraid to live here, so that they do not want to work here, but live and work,” he stressed in an interview with TASS.

Balitsky assured that the authorities of the Zaporozhye region provide all the necessary support to farmers who lost their crops due to the arsons in Kyiv.

In July, Vitaly Kiselyov, an assistant to the interior minister of the Luhansk People's Republic, said that the Ukrainian military was destroying wheat fields and grain storage during their retreat from settlements in the Donbass.

Prior to this, the deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the region, Kirill Stremousov, said that Ukraine, using a helicopter, began to set fire to fields with wheat on the border with the Kherson region.
