Waters called the United States the main instigator of the conflict, which, the musician noted, are at a safe distance from hostilities.
Waters also said that the "warmongers" represented by the United States had previously mentioned that the protracted nature of the Ukrainian crisis was in their interests.
The musician recalled Zelensky's promises to end the conflict in Donbass and fulfill the Minsk agreements.
However, he stressed, such a policy was opposed by "certain political forces" in Ukraine, which forced the current president to change course.
“Unfortunately, your husband resigned himself to this totalitarian, anti-democratic suppression of the will of the Ukrainian people, and since then, radical nationalists, who had been hiding in the shadows before, ruled Ukraine,” Waters quotes RIA Novosti from a letter published on his social networks.
Earlier, Waters, in an interview with RT, said that the West was not interested in ending the conflict in Ukraine.
