According to Thailand's "World Daily" report, recently, the Tourism Authority of Thailand stated that the proposal to extend the visa period has been approved by the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic Management Center. Passengers from countries and regions that can enter visa-free entry will stay in Thailand for a period of time. From 30 days to 45 days; for those eligible for visa on arrival, the length of stay will be extended from 15 days to 30 days.

The new visa system will take effect from October 1, 2022, until March 31, 2023.

  The Tourism Authority of Thailand pointed out that the extension of the visa period is to stimulate the upcoming peak tourist season, which usually runs between October and March of the following year.

  Within the 6-month special grace period of Thailand, passport holders of the following countries and regions can enter Thailand under the tourist visa exemption program, and the duration of each stay can be extended to 45 days:

  Including Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, etc.

  Within the same 6 months, holders of passports from the following countries and regions can apply for a visa on arrival, and the stay period after entry can be extended to 30 days:

  Bhutan, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, Fiji, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Malta, Mexico, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, etc.

  In addition, passport holders from the following countries and territories can enter Thailand under bilateral agreements: Cambodia, Myanmar (14 days), Mongolia, Russia, Vietnam (30 days), Argentina, Brazil, Chile, South Korea and Peru (90 days).

  The tourism board said that Thailand welcomes tourists from all countries and regions.

Passengers who have been vaccinated against the new crown only need to provide a vaccination certificate, and those who have not been vaccinated can enter the country with a negative certificate of nucleic acid test or professional antigen rapid screening within 72 hours before departure.

The competent authority has the right to conduct random inspections on passengers entering from international airports or through land border clearance ports.

  The Tourism Bureau reminds that inbound travelers, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated against the new crown, must strictly abide by Thailand's epidemic prevention health and safety standards.

Travellers with suspected symptoms of COVID-19 should be screened and, if positive, receive appropriate treatment.
