Journalist Henrik Evertsson and wreck expert and filmmaker Linus Andersson were first acquitted by the district court in February 2021 because the court made the assessment that international legislation outweighed the national one.

The films were on a German-flagged ship when the expedition with a diving robot down to Estonia's wreck was carried out in September 2019. And where the ship was, international maritime law applies.

But the Court of Appeal decided in February that the diving

can be

tried by national legislation, the so-called Estonia Act.

And that the district court did not examine all the objections that were raised.

The documentary film "Estonia - the find that changes everything" is a controversial film.

There is information that there is previously undetected damage to the ship's hull.
