Al-Jazeera correspondent reported this morning, Monday, that there were deaths and injuries, including employees of the Russian embassy, as a result of an explosion that occurred in front of its headquarters in Kabul, quoting an Afghan security source.
Reuters quoted an Afghan security source as saying that the security forces shot a suicide bomber who approached the Russian embassy in Kabul.
The attack comes two days after the deaths and injuries of an explosion targeting a religious school today, Saturday, in the district of "Nad Ali" in Helmand province, southern Afghanistan, and 52 people were killed in the bombing on Friday of a mosque in Herat, in the west of the country.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said Taliban forces would punish the perpetrators.
No party has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the Islamic State has previously claimed responsibility for previous attacks and promised more.
