At 12:52 on September 5, 2022, an earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in Moxi Town, Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with a focal depth of 16 kilometers.
As of 21:00 on September 5, the earthquake has caused more than 30 deaths. According to the "Ganzi Prefecture Earthquake Emergency Plan (Trial)" and with the consent of the prefecture people's government, the prefecture earthquake relief headquarters decided to adjust the prefecture-level earthquake emergency response to level one.
