The Ministry of Education announced the adoption of the professional and ethical charter for workers in public education institutions, which represents a general framework targeting all workers in the public and private educational sector in the state, and defines the most important standards, ethics and behaviors for workers and their responsibilities in educational institutions.

The professional and ethical charter aims to appreciate the role of education and realize the importance of workers in public education institutions in terms of their direct and deep impact and responsibility in building generations, and building an institutional culture based on ethical standards that enhance awareness and achieve the aspirations of the state leadership.

Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi said: "The professional and ethical charter for workers in public education institutions represents an illustrative document and a general framework for building an institutional culture based on the best ethical standards in the educational environment in the UAE."

The document is defined as a set of approved rules and foundations that govern the behavior of workers in the education sector in its various institutions (governmental and private), which must be adhered to and observed in accordance with the values, laws and legislation in the United Arab Emirates.

The document of the professional and ethical charter includes 10 principles, behaviors and ethics for workers in educational institutions in the country, which are the importance of instilling positive values ​​in the hearts of students, protecting them from extraneous ideas and unhealthy attitudes towards religion and national customs and traditions, and promoting the principles of tolerance and acceptance of others.

The charter also emphasizes the importance of motivating students to take care of the nation's capabilities, contribute to its development and prosperity, motivate them to participate in national activities and events, and commit to protecting children of all categories, from all kinds of abuse, neglect, exploitation and bullying.

The charter also includes the avoidance of all employees in the educational sector from disclosing confidential information relating to students and parents or spreading rumors and unreliable news, and avoiding the use of verbal or physical violence with students, in addition to showing high and positive moral behavior in dealing with all parents and adhering to societal values ​​and norms. .

The charter emphasizes, among the employees’ responsibilities, interest in knowing and respecting the Emirati culture and Islamic values ​​in educational institutions, respecting the cultural diversity of all employees in educational institutions from heritage, language, identity, nationality and religion, and avoiding any action or statement that offends or harms the reputation of the educational institution and its employees.

The principles within the charter also include staying away from inappropriate practices and behaviors within educational institutions, including smoking or dealing with any materials prohibited in UAE laws and legislation, ensuring that unacceptable behaviors do not spread within the Emirati society, and not addressing socially unacceptable issues, in addition to Adhere to decent and modest clothing.
