On Sunday, Germany presented a financial proposal to confront the energy shortage crisis, while Russia blamed the Europeans for stopping the flow of gas to their countries, and said that the Germans were behaving as enemies, stressing that "nothing can be predicted" about prices.

German Chancellor Olaf Schulz announced today that his country wants to use the exceptional profits that some energy companies have achieved thanks to high market prices, in order to ease the financial burden on families.

The German government indicated in a document that includes a new massive aid plan against inflation, that it will call for the inclusion of the measure "withdrawing part of the exceptional profits" made by these companies for its application within the framework of the European Union, while indicating that it is ready to apply it at the national level.

In a press conference, the German chancellor expressed his regret that producers simply benefited from the very high gas prices on the basis of which the price of electricity is determined.

The finance minister said this mandatory contribution could generate "tens of billions of euros".

Germany, like all European Union countries, is facing a sharp rise in electricity prices and concerns about energy supplies due to the drying up of Russian gas on which its industry depends in particular.

Olaf Schultz said that Russia is no longer a reliable supplier of energy, and stressed that his country has prepared for this possibility and is in a position to face the coming months.

Deterioration warning

In the same context, the company organizing the gas network in Germany explained that the situation of gas supplies in the country is currently safe, but it is unstable, and a further deterioration cannot be ruled out.

These developments came as the Russian company, "Gazprom", extended the suspension of gas shipments through the "Nord Stream 1" pipeline for an indefinite period.

The Kremlin said today, Sunday, that the responsibility for stopping the work of Nord Stream 1 lies with European politicians.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister called on the German company "Siemens" to implement the terms of the contract and maintain the "turbine", so that the "Nord Stream 1" line can return to work.

But the Russian Deputy Prime Minister said, "We do not rule out the continued rise in gas prices in foreign markets, and nothing can be predicted."

He added that "Germany is behaving as an enemy of Russia by declaring the hybrid war against Moscow."

Nevertheless, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the export of guaranteed gas at reasonable prices represents a competitive advantage for Moscow.

silly decision

"If the Europeans make a completely absurd decision, refusing to preserve their own, or rather, Gazprom's systems, then this is not the fault of Gazprom, but the fault of the politicians, who decided on sanctions," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Peskov added that the Europeans are contractually obligated to maintain the systems of the Russian energy giant "Gazprom".

Europe fears that the halt in the supply of Russian gas will lead to political and economic problems, especially with the advent of next winter.

In his daily video message on Saturday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for the intensification of Western sanctions against Russia to deprive it of hydrocarbon revenues, adding that Moscow is trying to increase pressure on Europe by stopping the pumping of gas through the "Nord Stream 1" pipeline, "to weaken and intimidate countries in Europe." ".

Earlier, a mass demonstration took place in the Czech Republic, blaming the Europeans for the lack of energy supplies and high prices.

The countries of Sweden, France and Italy announced financial and economic measures to confront these conditions.
