The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani had made a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in negotiations that seek to revive the nuclear agreement.

The ministry added that the Qatari foreign minister reiterated Doha's aspiration for Washington and Tehran to reach a consensus that would contribute to reviving the nuclear agreement and reaching a fair agreement for all, taking into account the concerns of all parties, stressing that this is in the interest of security and stability in the region.

For its part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the two sides discussed the file of talks to reactivate the nuclear agreement and files of common interest between the two countries.

She added that the two countries discussed Iranian-Qatari bilateral relations and issues related to consular affairs between the two countries.

On Friday, the United States announced that it had received, through the European Union, the Iranian response to its comments on the draft nuclear agreement, describing it as "not constructive."

Last August, the European Union presented a "final" settlement proposal, calling on Tehran and Washington to respond, hoping that the talks would be crowned with success.
