During a speech to the participants of the aviation, astronautics and technology festival, Erdogan urged Greece "not to forget about Izmir."

According to the Anadolu agency, in this way Erdogan recalled that 100 years ago, Greek troops were driven out of Izmir by an army under the command of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

“If you continue the current course (of provocations), you will pay a high price,” the agency quoted him as saying.

Erdogan also said that Turkey "will not be stopped by the fact of the occupation of the islands by Greece."

“We will take the necessary steps at the right time.

It can happen unexpectedly and on any of the nights,” he said.

Earlier, Erdogan said that Greece challenged the North Atlantic Alliance when it pursued Turkish aircraft, while using the S-300.

In turn, the Greek Defense Ministry denied Turkey's statements that Athens allegedly used the S-300 air defense system against Turkish F-16 fighters performing a reconnaissance mission over the Aegean Sea.
