Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, said that the stability of energy supplies and the stability of prices is very important and major.

In an interview with the Singapore News Agency, the Qatari Foreign Minister said that Qatar supplies gas shipments to Europe and Asia in compliance with its contracts, and that it did not favor any party over the other.

He added, "I cannot speculate about energy prices because I am not an expert in that..but we have witnessed a change in the world after the Covid crisis..there are many consequences of what we have gone through because of covid. The green agenda has had a significant impact on energy prices, and it is not in the interest of the consumer or the producer.”

He continued, "For us as producers, stability of energy supplies and stability of prices is very important.. As a long-term energy supplier, we rely mainly on concluding long-term contracts with countries.. In fact, we have made great partnerships with Asia and Europe. Stability in prices is key and important. To continue and deepen these partnerships.

The Qatari Foreign Minister stressed that his country will continue to invest in the field of natural gas, and that it has invested a lot of time to ensure that its energy does not harm the environment, adding that the expansion of investment in the field of natural gas will contribute to enhancing the stability of the energy market in the future.

He said, "The State of Qatar has decided to continue its investments in the field of natural gas, which we believe will maintain its importance. It is a cleaner, safer and reliable source of energy, and for this we have also invested a lot of time to ensure that our energy does not harm the environment. Therefore, we are considered world leaders in The field of carbon capture and conversion and international leaders in reducing combustion emissions resulting from gas processing.

He added, "Producing this huge amount of energy requires a great effort, and this also requires a high sense of responsibility towards the environment. We believe that this expansion will contribute to enhancing the stability of the energy market in the near future as well as in the long term."
