• Politics Arrimadas demands Sánchez to prevent Alsasua's "disgusting ceremony of hate" against the Civil Guard

  • The 'Ospa Eguna' of 2021 Alsasua celebrates the day of "hate" against the Civil Guard: "Get out of here"

"We will never accept the

Police

", proclaimed the

Ospa Eguna

spokesman in the final speech before some 700 followers in the Plaza de los Fueros de Alsasua.

The young

communists

of the

Kontseilu Sozialista

of this Navarran town have attacked all the security forces as "lackeys" of the bourgeoisie.

Their outright rejection of the State Security Forces (FSE) has even led them to criticize EH Bildu, for questioning the boycott suffered by an

ertzaina

in

Mutriku,

and

Ernai

-his rival within the

nationalist left

-, for distancing himself from the exclusion of an aspiring provincial police officer from the organization of the festivities in

Berriozar

.

More than 700 sympathizers of the nationalist left

have

walked the streets of Alsasua to reject in a generic way the police presence after more than a decade of "fight" against the Civil Guard.

The demonstrators have launched generic slogans against the police presence, accusing the State Security Forces of being the "lackeys" of the bourgeoisie.

"We always position ourselves against any police", they underlined at the end of the march in their final statement read by two spokesmen in Basque and in Spanish.

The march took place without incident or police presence, although in the area closest to the Civil Guard barracks some flares were lit while the shouts of

"Alde hemendik, utzi pakean

" ("Get out of here, leave us in peace") and '

Jo ta ke, irabazi arte

" ("Hit until you win", in Basque), The march ended with the reading of the two communiqués without this time repeating the images of radicals disguised as civil guards they simulated torturing other young people.

The members of the

Gazte Koordinadora Sozialista

(GKS) have denounced that their militants have had to face fines of up to 30,000 euros for the acts organized in Alsasua in the last editions of the

Ospa Eguna

.

The annual event called by groups of radical youth from Alsasua has been carried out with practically no police presence despite requests made by political parties and professional associations of the Civil Guard for its suspension.

The

Professional Association of the Civil Guard

(Jucil) had expressly forwarded its complaint to both the

Ministry of the Interior

, the

Public Prosecutor

's Office of the National High Court, the

Government Delegation

in Navarra and the

Ombudsman

of this community to prevent the carrying out of planned events by warning that the events scheduled at the

Ospa Eguna

their "sole purpose is to humiliate, harass and attack the civil guards."

Only the Navarrese Ombudsman,

Patxi Vera

, responded to the complaint received but to convey to the general secretary of Jucil,

Ernesto Vilariño

, that he was sending his letter to the Spanish Ombudsman, Ángel Gabilondo, who had not spoken before the holding of the

Ospa Eguna

.

Complaint of political parties

Political parties such as PP, Ciudadanos and Vox in Madrid and UPN in Navarra have publicly denounced the celebration of this day against the Civil Guard and the

Provincial Police

of Navarra.

Spokespersons for the three parties have activated initiatives in Congress regarding the attitude of the socialist government in allowing this act, which has been held practically continuously since 2010.

In the summer of 2019, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the National Court requested the prohibition of the

Ospa Eguna

-which has been organized at least since 2010- on the grounds that it reproduces ETA's "tactical objective" consisting of expelling the State Security Forces and Corps of the autonomous communities of the Basque Country and Navarra and which, furthermore, humiliates the victims of terrorism.

However, the head of the Central Court of Instruction number 2 of the National High Court,

Ismael Moreno

, rejected the requested suspension of the act upon verifying that no crimes had occurred in the celebrations of previous years.

The judges have warned the FSE to prepare reports if they detect the commission of crimes such as glorification of terrorism and humiliation of the victims during the course of these acts in order to act later.

The leader of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, who went to Alsasua on Friday in an act of "thank you" to the Civil Guard, assured that the Socialist Executive has "many tools" to prevent the celebration of the

Ospa Eguna

.

Arrimadas demanded that President Sánchez "lift a finger" to prohibit its development and anticipated that he would not do so because "he sits in a chair supported by those who will celebrate this act of hatred against the Civil Guard tomorrow."
